Obituary
Amanda Joelle Schneider of Seattle, Washington passed away on November 4, 2023, at the age of 28. Born in San Mateo, California on February 5, 1995, to Eileen Taylor and Karl Schneider, Amanda was a light in the lives of all who knew her.
After being raised in northern California, Amanda relocated to Seattle in fall of 2017 and loved living in the heart of downtown where she worked as a personal trainer at the Washington Athletic Club. Her passions included music, dance, fitness, and a love of animals.
Amanda frequented the local Seattle concert scene when bands from her favorite music genre made it to town. She was a fan of hard/alt rock. Her colleagues remember her as always wearing earphones. She had also recently taken up the guitar.
Amanda attended a local community college and was planning on transferring to the University of Washington to pursue her bachelor’s degree in psychology. With a psychology degree and her background as a personal trainer, Amanda felt she would be well equipped to help people afflicted with the eating disorders she suffered through as a teenager/young adult.
Those who knew her and/or worked with her remember her fondly. In describing Amanda they used phrases such as: “She had such a quiet presence, [but] she was so passionate about what she believed in,” ”she was like family,” and she was a “strong, powerful young woman.”
Sadly, Amanda’s journey has been cut short. Her spirit, however, lives on in the hearts of those she left behind. Amanda is deeply missed by her parents, Eileen Taylor and Karl Schneider, her brothers Jared and Nicholas Burt, and a host of extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.

Amanda struggled with eating disorders as a teenager/young adult. During her recovery, she discovered the important role that physical and mental fitness played in restoring one’s health. It became her passion and led her to become a physical trainer while pursuing a degree in psychology to be better equipped to help those who suffer from eating disorders. NEDA is an non-profit that provides such support to those with eating disorders.
